Developed in collaboration with public utilities, the Pipelife SmartProbe accommodates network and water quality sensors that eliminate blind spots in potable water pipe systems.
Our network monitoring devices can be mounted directly onto potable water pipes without disrupting the supply or risking contamination. Versatile plug-and-play sensors provide a comprehensive network overview and can be easily exchanged above ground for installation or maintenance.
Establish a more complete picture of your network with all-encompassing sensor coverage.
The SmartProbe accommodates a wide array of sensors for collecting accurate data, including:
While SmartProbe devices can be easily integrated into existing data management systems, they have also been designed to work seamlessly with our Pipelife SmartHub platform for optimal data analysis and visualization.
1. What is a SmartProbe?
The Pipelife SmartProbe is a device that accommodates network and water quality sensors. Their compact and modular design enables direct integration with any pipe in a non-trafficable area, eliminating blind spots throughout your potable water network.
2. WHAT DO NETWORK AND WATER QUALITY SENSORS MEASURE?
Our network and water quality sensors measure a number of key indicators, including:
· Pressure + temperature
· Conductivity + temperature
· Temperature
· pH + oxidation-reduction potential + temperature
· Turbidity
· Flow speed and direction (coming soon)
3. HOW DO NETWORK AND WATER QUALITY SENSORS WORK?
The SmartProbe is installed directly onto potable water pipes for unrestricted access to the water line. From here, the sensors measure a variety of network and water quality indicators and send the information to your data management system for analysis. Data transfers are compatible with existing third-party systems as well as the Pipelife SmartHub data visualization and asset management platform.
4. WHERE CAN SMARTPROBE NETWORK AND WATER QUALITY SENSORS BE INSTALLED?
The SmartProbe’s compact design and independent power supply enable direct on-pipe installation in non-trafficable zones. Installation can be completed in 1.5 – 3 hours without disrupting the water supply or risking contamination.
5. DO SMARTPROBE NETWORK AND WATER QUALITY SENSORS NEED TO BE CONNECTED TO THE POWER NETWORK?
Pipelife SmartProbes are completely detached from public power networks. They are battery-powered to ensure positional freedom and reliable measurements that are protected against network outages. Batteries can be easily exchanged above ground in 15 – 30 minutes.
6. HOW CAN I ANALYZE THE DATA MEASURED BY NETWORK AND WATER QUALITY SENSORS?
SmartProbes seamlessly integrate with the Pipelife SmartHub — our data visualization and analysis interface. However, they are also compatible with any existing data management systems you have in place.
7. HOW DO I INSTALL A SMARTPROBE NETWORK AND WATER QUALITY SENSOR DEVICE?
SmartProbes can be easily installed in 1.5 – 3 hours without disrupting the water supply or risking contamination. We offer comprehensive on-site support for first-time installations and our complete guide with step-by-step instructions can be downloaded below.
8. CAN SMARTPROBE NETWORK AND WATER QUALITY SENSORS BE INSTALLED UNDERNEATH ACTIVE ROADWAYS?
No, SmartProbes must only be installed in non-trafficable zones. However, outside of these areas, the devices can be installed at any point in the network.
9. ARE SMARTPROBE NETWORK AND WATER QUALITY SENSORS COMPATIBLE WITH ALL PIPE TYPES?
SmartProbes must only be installed on the following pipe types:
Do not use the SmartProbe on any other type of pipe.
10. HOW MUCH DOES A SMARTPROBE NETWORK AND WATER QUALITY SENSOR COST?
Pipelife SmartProbes are available at a competitive price throughout Europe. Please get in touch with your local Pipelife partner for a detailed offer.
